Zeroing Negative Stock Values

Negative stock levels can occur when an item is sold in a quantity greater than what is currently available in inventory. When this happens, the system records the stock level as a negative number. To correct these discrepancies, the Inventory Utility includes an operation specifically for resetting negative quantities back to zero.

What This Function Does

The Zero Negative Inventory operation will:

  • Scan your inventory for any items with negative stock levels
  • Reset those negative quantities back to 0
  • Leave all positive quantities unchanged

This is useful when:

  • Incorrect receiving or sales entries have led to negative values
  • Cycle counts or physical inventory adjustments need to be aligned
  • You want a clean baseline before re‑evaluating reorder points

How to Zero Negative Stock Levels

  1. Go to:
    Maintenance > Zero Negative Stock
  2. The Inventory Utility window will appear with the operation already set to:
    Zero Negative Inventory
  3. Choose what to include:
    • Vendors to Include: All or a specific vendor
    • Departments to Include: All or one
    • Styles and Products to Include (this will be accessible if a specific vendor is used:
