This document will be covering best batching practices between a polling location and a remote store. This process will help ensure you are giving the program the best chance to not incur corrupted data or incorrect information in the batch process.
- First, you will want to check that the station number you are running the batch from is what the batch process is expecting. You can do this by first going to check your station number under File>Station.

- Once you have confirmed your station number you need to check what station number the batch is being run from under Setup>Polling>Station to run the batch update process, if these numbers match you can start the process.

- Now that you have confirmed that information you can start on the “Month End” process, this will ensure you avoid any potential data corruption when running the batch process. .
- To start the “Month End” process you will go to Maintenance>Month End.

- After selecting “Month End” you will see the screen to run the month end process, which will include how far back it will be cleaning up the data from. Please make sure to read this portion thoroughly as you want to make sure it is deleting the correct information. Once you have confirmed this information you can select “Yes” to start the Month End process.

- In the event that the options under Month End are incorrect you can always go to Setup>Month End and you can adjust how far out you want to clean up the information.

- Now that you have completed the Month end process you can start the Batch. To start the Batching process you will go to Home>Auto-Start.

- If you are set to Auto Batch, selecting the Auto Start button will trigger a message to make sure you understand you are running the batch manually from here. You will select “OK” on this option. If you are not set to Auto Batch, the batch screen will open without the following message.

- Once you have selected OK you will be brought to the batching screen.

- Once at the “Batch Update Process” screen you can choose which store you will and will not be batching with. To make those edits you can right click on any of your stores under the “Status” section and choose to “Exlude” or “Include” in the batch process.

- After you have choosen the stores that will batch you can select the “Start” button to kick off the Batch process. If you are set to Auto batch the program will give you a message to confirm you want to start the process manually, in this case you will select “No” so the batch can start manually.

- This process can take upwards of 40-45 mins, once the process is completed you will be able to select “OK” on the Batch completed successfully screen.

- Once you have completed the process, if you wanted to confirm the batch process completing, you can go back to the batch screen and choose “Batch Log” at the bottom right of the screen.

- This screen will allow you to see more detail on the batch process status. You can go to the “Completed” or “Log” tab to see more information about the batch process.

- Once you have confirmed this information you can close out of the screens and the Batch process is completed.
