🔁 About Duplicate Detection
Duplicate Detection is a feature that prevents the same amount from being charged to the same card more than once within a 15-minute window. It’s a safeguard against accidental double-charging (for example, if a browser crash occurs during payment).
⚠️ Things to Consider:
-
-
This feature protects customers from accidental double charges
-
The only known issue occurs when a customer intentionally makes two identical purchases back-to-back — the second transaction may be blocked
-
The setting can be disabled by a manager or anyone with access to store settings
-
✅ Recommendation: Keep Duplicate Detection enabled to minimize risk of duplicate payments.

🛒 Optional Setting – Shopping Cart Settings
Setup > Webstore > Settings >Require the Ship To ZIP Code and the Credit Card ZIP to Match
Description:
This optional setting helps deter potential fraud by ensuring the shipping ZIP code and the billing ZIP code (from the credit card) are the same.
Functionality:
When enabled, the system will decline any orders where the “Ship To” ZIP code does not match the ZIP code tied to the credit card billing address.
Use Case:
Merchants who want to add an additional layer of fraud prevention—especially for high-ticket items or regions with high fraud rates—may find this setting beneficial.
Important Notes:
-
This setting is optional and can be toggled based on business needs.
-
Orders with mismatched ZIP codes will not process successfully when this setting is active.
